Energy Politics & Elections
How do you feel about the energy price game? Do you think the price is manipulated to gouge consumers? Personally I think they are totally controlled as well as manipulated and by two different forces.
I believe the industry itself can and at times does have an effect on prices but at times prices are manipulated even more by speculators. The recent drive in price was in large part do to Wall Street speculators. They get the market rolling upwards and wait for smaller investors to buy into the rapid rise in price. Speculators then grab their bag of money and are gone. Of course the little guy wonders what happened.
That said… I believe that the industry can set up the cycle of upward speculation of prices. How? Simply by controlling the inventories is one easy way. Just look how prices spiked up immediately upon news of the BP shutdown in Alaska for repairs of the neglected pipeline. Maybe it was neglected for a time when prices were up, inventories are low and the shutdown would bring even higher prices and even more billions in profit. It did just that.
Once again the Republicant’s are talking about tax breaks for the oil giants under the brilliant theory it will spur more exploration. FUCK EXPLORATION. If the oil Barron robbers get any of the peoples money it dam well all better be for alternative energy research and development not oil exploration. Oil is a deadly substance in so many ways we need to stop using it ASAP. It starts wars that kill and it pollutes the earth in may ways including warming the atmosphere and putting as in great danger of sea level increases of tens of feet in the next few decades.
We need to push like we bombers pushed to get out of Vietnam. We need to push out leaders to pump big money into alternative energy. Let the oil Barron robbers use some of the tens and hundreds of billions the oil industry takes in annually in profits be used for oil exploration but not the people’s money.
We the people of earth… and that includes us arrogant Americans who are sucking up the earth resources at a rate far greater then any other country in the world, need to get more into natural living and heavy into conservation of energy. Start changing your old light bulbs to energy efficient fluorescents. They are more expensive but last for many years and can go a long way to cut green house gases.
We the people, not them the people, need to get involved and that means each of us. We can and will make a major difference and we need to or future generations will look back at our generation as one of arrogance, abuse and one of greed and self fulfillment as the top priority.
When I saw Al Gores movie I started to change old bulbs to fluorescents. Now I have 7. I even put one in the bathrooms and keep all the regular decorator bulbs unscrewed unless I have guests. I do not need seven bulbs to use the bathroom. Things like that do make a difference and if we all take part in this way of conscious energy living we can make a huge difference immediately and that is what we need in order we save the earth for the future generations.
Bush boy and his cronies will continue to preach their own visions which are not in reality. As we move closer to the most critical mid term elections in our history the Republicant’s will try to scare us on homeland security issues when in reality the reason I am scared and you should be scared if they wasted hundreds of billions in Iraq while not securing our borders, ports, trains and air cargo. It's all wrong. Homeland security by definition starts at home and not in some foreign land packed full of oil.
Do your personal part of saving our planet.
Friends…. Don’t Let Friends Vote Republicant’s!
